Wild Mustang Challenge
This is the 2nd Challenge run by the Mustang Heritage Foundation in cooperation with the Bureau of Land Management. There are 30,000 mustangs in the USA and pasture land for only 20,000, This challenge enables the mustang to survive. Before 1973 the excess horses were slaughtered. Thru this challenge horses are trained and auctioned (on April 20) to the highest bidder after the competition on April 18/19.
Sonny’s Mustang is from the maverick medicine herd in Wells, Nevada, which consists of a few hundred horses. The herd travels 30 miles a day for food. Sonny’s Mustang is a 3 yr old Sorrel.
